OBITUARY:
Mrs. Dorothy E. Crockett, 64, rural Irwin.

Mrs. Crockett was born April 16, 1915 in Irwin Missouri, to James Albert and Mary
Marie Bartlett Mount. After Mary Mount's death, December 25, 1917, Dorothy was adopted by her Aunt and Uncle, James Oap and Emma Elizabeth Bartlett Cowherd. Emma was a sister of Mary Bartlett Mount. Oap and Emma kept the Mount name for Dorothy to honor her mother and she called the Cowherds "aunt" and "uncle" and knew and was reminded who her mother was.

Dorothy was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a housewife and a member of the Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She married Milton Crockett on Feb. 2, 1937 in Lamar. He survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Larry Crockett, Irwin; a daughter, Mrs.
Betty Lawrence, Rt. 1, Iantha ; three brothers, Roy Mount, Big Bear, Calif.,
Albert Mount, Carroll, Iowa, and Marion Coward, Nevada; two sisters, Mrs.
Myrtle Hall, Lake City,Iowa, and Mrs. Nannie Ross, Sacramento, Calif and four
grandchildren.

Marion Cowherd and Nannie Ross mentioned above were actually cousins, but were "brother" and "sister" in their hearts.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lohmeyer-Konantz Chapel. Burial will
be in the Oakton Cemetery.
