Funeral services for Mary Lee Haynes, 82, will be held Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Kornegay Funeral Home Camden Chapel with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Dr. William F. Summers will officiate.
Mrs. Haynes went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2007. Born in Falkville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Earl Lee and Nettie Pearl Crowe Robinson. Mrs. Haynes worked for various branches of the federal government including the FBI, the CIA, and the Department of Health Education and Welfare. She received an Associates degree in radio broadcasting from Grayson County Community College and was the author of a book on jazz, Going to Kansas City, and was a free-lance writer and regular contributor to the Mississippi Rag. She was a member of New Life Community Church, Asheville, N.C.

Surviving are husband, John Lawrence Haynes, Jr., of Camden; daughters, Leslie Kendall of Asheville, N.C., Suzanne Rhodes of Virginia Beach, Va. and a step-daughter, Marilyn Higgs, of Mobile, Ala. Her grandchildren include Billy Kendall, Danny Kendall, Mary Eileen Kendall, Jennifer Goodman, Eric Janssen, Cynthia Vukmer, Katy Atkinson, Stephen Clark and Emily Clark. Great grandchildren include Perry, Seth, Hannah, Melea and Mollie Claire Kendall; Jacob Goodman; Jordan Thurman, and Robert and Robin Marie Janssen. She was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Underwood Janssen.

Mary Lee was married 1st to Roger Leslie Underwood 10/19/1945. To this marriage were born Robyn, Leslie and Suzanne. 2nd marriage was to Donald T Hester on 8/6/1956. 3rd marriage was to John Haynes Jr. on 8/29/2003.
