Illness Proves Fatal To Amanda J. Bennett: PERU, Ind., Nov. 27 - Mrs. Amanda J. Bennett, 91, died at 8 o'clock Saturday evening at the Glen Rest nursing home after an illness of three months.
The daughter of Harmon and Margaret (Fowler) Biggs, she was born Jan. 15, 1859 in Gilead, Ind. On Sept. 1, 1881, she was married to Frank Bennett who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1927, She had spent almost her entire lifetime in Peru.
Surviving are a son, Scott Bennett, a grandson, Berle Bennett of Marion, and several great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Allen funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen chapel. The Rev. C. W. Miller of the United Brethren church will officiate and burial will be in the IOOF cemetery at Rochester.
