Services for Lester R. Cloyd, 77, Nampa, who died Thursday, April 4, at a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with the Rev. Donald J. Brown, pastor of the Star Friends Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Cloyd was born Oct. 27, 1907, in Wilbur, Neb. At the age of 1, he moved with his family to Pine Bluff, Wyo., where he was reared and educated. He graduated from high school in Carpenter, Wyo.
After graduating, he moved with his family to Caldwell. He married Olive L. Trueblood in Caldwell. They moved to Nampa where he began to work for the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman and also continued to farm.
He retired in 1972 after 30 years of service to the railroad.
He attended the Nampa Friends Church and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. He was an active bowler in Nampa for many years.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Larry Cloyd of Boise and Leo Cloyd of Kuna; one daughter, Janet Cloyd of Nampa; three sisters, Inez Bogie of Deming, Wash., Bernice Carlsturm of Longmont, Colo., and Zelda Schliske of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
