John Deveraux, Owner of Deveraux Hall, Passes Away

John Deveraux, 82, owner of Deveraux hall, in Bountiful, died early Thursday morning at a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to old age.

Born in South Wales, Oct. 2, 1855. Mr. Deveraux came to American about 50 years ago. He was the son of Joseph and Jane Lewis Devereaux. He was a machinest and was a charter member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Salt Lake, local chapter, 259.

Surviving are his widow, Sadie Devereaux, the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Sarah Jane Reese, Mrs. A. Z. Mitchell, Leslie Devereaux and Ulyess Devereaux, all of Bountiful; Mark, John and Miss Annie Devereaux of Salt Lake; Mrs. Helen Warby, Mrs. Frank Shaw, Mrs. C. M. Luce and Mrs. Ray Coburn, also of Salt Lake; Mrs. Leno York, Los Angeles, Calif.; Joseph Devereaux, Ogden; Mrs. Amelia Carter, Mrs. Francis Boysen, Mrs. A. Vanier and Mrs. Winifred Peterson, all of San Francisco, and Mrs. Waldo Morgan of Oakland.

The following brothers and sisters also survive: Joseph Devereaux and Mrs. Maria Wright of Ogden; Mrs. Ruth Dickerson, Midvale and Samuel Devereaux of Aberdeen, Idaho. Also surviving are 46 grandchildren and 35 greatgrand children.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday, at 260 East South Temple street, by officers of Mosses Lodge No. 259. Burial will be in the Bountiful cemetery.
