Sarah worked, cared for (6) Children and was active in local organizations. She was a nurturing and loving Mom to her children and well-loved by her grandchildren who hold her dear in their memory.
She died in 1990 at age 84; she was laid to rest in the
Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, at the side of her dear husband Roy, who was laid to rest (13) years earlier. (jgk)

A Grand-daughters heart-felt words, give us a loving picture of Gramma Sarah:
Sarah Eugene Scott: 1 June 1906-4 Feb 1990 (died in her sleep). She was born in Frankville, Washington County, Al. I believe they met in Bayou La Batre when she was visiting either friends or relatives. She was a homemaker, worked in the seafood industry, raised 6 children, member of the Library Ladies Group, member of War Mothers, and the Rebekahs of the Oddfellows.
She loved her family and especially Grandpa. Whenever she cooked it was always his favorites. It was very hard on her when after he died. He had done all of the shopping and bill paying. She wanted so bad to be with him aut she carried on for another 13 years. She had fallen and broken her hip and just never recovered from it. She died in her sleep while taking a nap.
She was an excellent Grandma and we were lucky to have her and to love her. She made the best blackberry cobbler and grape jelly. I loved to hang around her and watch her crochet and I still have the bedspread she made for my mom. She would let us comb her hair and just talk to us. She loved to watch her stories on tv. She and grandpa did a lot traveling and she would take my cousins with them or we would go with them to Frankvile to visit her family.
We miss her greatly
