He is the son of Mary Ann Griggs and Capt. William W. Taylor.
Although no birth and death records have been located, the following is found in the History of Sutton, 1704 -1876 on Pg. 254. "The second daughter, Mary Ann, married Capt. William W. Taylor, United States Army. She died soon after her marriage, and her remains and those of her infant son were sent home to her friends for burial in Sutton."
He is buried with his mother in the Griggs family lot near the west wall of the cemetery.
