John Anthony Cronin Jr., 69, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was born in Boston, Mass., son of the late John A. Cronin Sr. and Evelyn Mary Harvey Cronin.

Mr. Cronin served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Prudential Agent for many years, later he owned and operated the Brambleton Inn Restaurant.

He is survived by his three daughters, Tara Kathleen Cronin, of Fairfax, Stephanie C. Stevens and her husband, Sam, of Goodview, and Michelle C. Haley and her husband, Bo, of Bassett; and stepdaughter, Amy Elizabeth Smith and her husband, Wayne, of Covington.

Funeral service will be held noon on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Dr. Dick Surrusco will officiate. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
