Listed in the Jones County GA News dated May 1828: "Married in Jones County, Thursday evening last, by the Rev. Miles Greene, Mr. Henry Jernigan to Miss Caroline S. M. Gachet." Per Paul Stewart (51153770) "According to my Great Aunt's genealogy book c1979 'Gachets and Thorntons' (her life's work) Caroline is a daughter of Dr. Charles 'Clement' Gachet and his 3rd wife Nancy 'Ann' Stubbs, married 18 Nov 1802 in Effingham County, GA. Ann is a daughter of James Stubbs (1746-1822) and Mary Eliza Scott (c1750-1816) of Jefferson County, GA."
