JOHN F. TEZAK Jr.
Interlochen-John F. Tezak Jr. 89 of Interlochen, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City. He was born December 31, 1914 in Crested Butte, Colo., the son of John and Mary (Stubler) Tezak Sr.
John and his wife Violet, moved to Interlochen in 1939 and were members of Lake Ann United Methodist Church. John was also a member of the Interlochen Eagles. He had worked for the Benzie County Road Commission for 38 years until retiring on Dec. 1, 1976.
John is survived by his son, Leroy (Barbara) Tezak of Traverse City; his grandson Dennis (Patricia) Tezak of Traverse City; two great grandchildren, Kyle and Holli Tezak; a brother, Martin (Geraldine) Tezak of Interlochen; two sisters, Louise Yerdon of New York and Mary Becker of Chicago, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
On April 27, 1937 in Benzonia, John married Violet S. Stiles, who preceded him in death on June 30, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Frank and Louis Tezak.
Served by the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Rev. Charles Towersy officiated. Interment in the Inland Towhship Cemetery.
