Amy E. Townsend Sutton, 77, died at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 1995 at her residence. She died from an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) with coronary artery disease. Contributing factors also included hypertension (high blood pressure) and congestive heart failure. She was born on December 4, 1917 in Peru, Indiana to Charles Marion and Rosetta Chambers Townsend.
She married Glen W. Sutton on April 18, 1936. He died on April 27, 1983. To their happy union they had two children: Janet and Jerry Sutton.
Mrs. Sutton retired from Kuepper Favor Company, Peru, Indiana. She attended Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Sutton, Peru; one daughter, Janet "Jan" Horner, Peru; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Darrell Townsend, Peru. She was also preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. She has a cousin, John Townsend, who was raised in her parents household, and he also survives.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Murdock officiating. Burial will be at Ever-Rest Memorial park cemetery, Cass County, Indiana.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
