He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Star City, to Floyd and Viola Powell Hettinger. He was married July 13, 1945, to Edith Pitman, who died Sept. 16, 1967. He was then married to Eva Hope Wilson on Jan. 30, 1969, and she survives.
Also surviving are one son; two daughters; three stepdaughters; one stepson; one brother; one sister; one half brother, Ernest Hettinger, Peru; and 17 grandchildren. A daughter is deceased.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Sam Young and the Rev. Gregg Hackett officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery, Cass County. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
