Mary Mae Hood
Mary Mae Hood, 60, 106 E. Linden Ave., died Sunday at 6:35 p.m. at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Aug. 12, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, Ky., she was the daughter of William David and Susie Catherine Moore Childers. On Feb. 17, 1940, in London, Ky., she was married to Thurman W. Hood, who survives.
Surviving with the husband are three sons, Bobby Lee, 107 E. Linden Ave.; Richard T., Rt. 5; and John David, 1618 George St.; two daughters, Virginia Brown, Higden, Ark.; and Robin Rhodes, 709 Lynnwood Drive: six brothers, Paul, Cincinnati, Ohio; Earl and Willis, Mt. Vernon, Ky.; Bill and Geder, Lebanon; and Hugh, Kokomo; four sisters, Lola Meyer, Chicago; Wanda Burnett and Anna Whitaker, Cinncinati; and Ruth Hood, Greenwood; and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, with the Rev, Mitchell Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Ever-rest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or the Spring Creek Christian Church.
