In 1930, the family was living in a house they were renting at 200 West Symmes Street in Norman, Oklahoma (Cleveland County). The household included: Weldon W., age 28, married at age 22, working as a laundry driver; Mildred M., age 23, married at age 16, born in Oklahoma; Charles W., age 5, born in Oklahoma; Jack E, age 3 6/12, born in Oklahoma; and James S., age 1 1/12, born in Oklahoma.
Charles married Anita Louise Scatori, daughter of Dr. Stephen Scatori and Lora Jane Roberts. Charles and Anita had three children: Susie, Terry & Scott.
Charles died on November 30, 1984, and was buried in the Norman IOOF Cemetery.

Norman High School. While school districts all around them are cutting back on capital expenditures, five construction projects at Norman High School continue full speed ahead. The reason for that, according to a man who has literally built the district for the past 35 years, is the district patrons' positive attitude toward education. "People support education here. It is a priority," said Charles Bumgarner, who retired last year as assistant superintendent for building and grounds. He still works as a consultant to the district on construction projects.

400 Attend Services. More than 400 friends and relatives attended services in Norman on Monday for Charles W. Bumgarner, retired public schools official who died Friday. Attending were several family members from Los Angeles California, including actor James Garner. Charles Bumgarner, 60, was a retired assistant superintendent with the Norman public schools.
