Velma M. Fisher of Mitchell, IN, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born on December 20, 1921, in Washington Bounty, IN, she was the daughter of Delza E. and Alta C. (Clements) Barrett. She married Clair Robert Fisher on January 17, 1942, and he died April 16, 1993.

Surviving are four sons: Ellis Wayne Fisher and Edward Dale Fisher, both of Mitchell, IN, John Phillip Fisher of Orleans, IN, and David Allen Fisher of Solsberry, IN; three sisters: her twin, Zelma Rowell of Muncie, IN, Eloise Lay of Shirley, IN, and Mildred Williams of Paoli, IN; two brothers, Howard W. Barrett of Paoli, IN, and John F. Barrett of Orleans, IN; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Macel Barrett, and one brother, Lawrence E. Barrett.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Woodville Baptist Church.

Services for Velma Fisher will be at 10:-00 a.m. Saturday, August 12th, at Woodville Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
