She was the daughter of Dr. Thomas Abbott and Margaret Starke Abbott.
Lucy came to St. Augustine, Florida from Fairfield County, South Carolina, and invested in the Noda Concession and other properties, building as far north as Locust Street. By 1923 her name was associated with the North City community. The settlement became home to a variety of inhabitants: bankers, lawyers, retired generals, physicians, etc.
She was 91 years old when she died.
