Elsie Lavona Coffey Elsie Lavona Coffey, 85 of Nampa, passed away Friday April 17th at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday April 27th at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, in Caldwell. Burial will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, with the Reverend Ron Clapp officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be Sunday April 26th from 1-4 p.m.

Elsie was born to Sylvester and Estella Mendenhall on July 7, 1923 in Caldwell where she and her older brother Arlan "Red" were raised.

She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1941 and married her husband Winston "Perk", shortly thereafter on June 4, 1941. Elsie and Perk would have been married 68 years in June. She spent most of her life in Caldwell, where she worked at the Evans Fish Fly Co., Arrock Distributing and was the 1st office employee Kit Manufacturing had in Idaho.

In 1962, they purchased a Trout Farm north of Caldwell that they turned into the Coffey Grounds Mobile Home Park, which they operated until 1969. They purchased C&W Realty in 1970, and a few years later combined with another agency and became Caldwell Realty. In 1983, they retired from selling real estate and moved to their cabin in New Meadows.

Their retirement was interrupted when they were asked to manage the Landmark Tower Retirement Center, in Nampa. When they finally retired again, they spent their summers at their cabin in Meadows and began spending their winters in Mesa, Ariz. They moved to Boise where they resided for a few years before moving in 1999, to the Goldcrest Estates in Nampa. They have had many happy years at Goldcrest and have many special friends there. Elsie loved to play Bingo, take trips to Jackpot, with her daughter, and go to parades and musical concerts. She and Perk regularly attended both the Nampa and Caldwell Senior Centers for lunch, Bingo and the friendship of her fellow seniors. She stayed active with her "Class of 41 Club" with their monthly luncheons and had become a fan of the Seattle Mariners. She was waiting for the regular season to start, so she could do a little coaching, while watching them on TV. They logged many a mile traveling to their grandsons' sports activities through the years.

She is survived by her husband Perk of Nampa, daughters; Karen (Marv) Heikkila of McCall, Suzanne Coffey and her fianc Tony Schlapia of Nampa. A sister-in-law; Eunice Kruger of Caldwell, grandsons; Douglas (Lisa) Heikkila, of Meridian, Brent (Ruthie) Heikkila of Boise, Steven (Dianna) Heikkila of Boise, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arlan, a grandson Barry and great-grandchildren, twins Whitney and Wayne Heikkila.
