Obituary
OBITUARY: Hamilton County Ledger, p. 4, Friday, December 9, 1904

"Some one has gone from this strange world of ours,
No more to gather its thorns with its flowers,
No more to linger where sunbeams must fade,
Where on all beauty, deaths fingers are laid.

Anna Ahneda, daughter of Ananias and Anna Jarman was born in Hamilton county, Ind., Jan 19, 1878. Died in Arcadia, Ind., Nov. 30, 1904, aged 26 years, 10 months and 11 days.

She united with the English Lutheran Church at Mt. Pleasant about eleven years ago under the efficient pastorage of Rev. Mohler and maintained her integrity for the cause until called home. She leaves behind a father and many near relatives to mourn her early departure. At a very early age in life her mother preceded her and she made her home with near relatives where she endeared herself as one of the family. The vacant chair around the hearth-stone will recall many happy hours spent in the sunshine of her presence.

Being some distance from her home church and convenient to a sister denomination, she became useful in the latter in all departments of the church and will be missed especially in the Sunday School. Her illness was painful and of long duration, yet she bore it with meekness and oftimes manifested a willingness and a desire to go. Her last moments were those of victory and we know she has gone where the inhabitants are free from pain, and although her sun had scarcely reached its meridian height, the years deprived of her in this life will be added to her in Eternity. And though we miss her here we believe she has joined and enjoys the associations of loved ones gone before.

The voice we hear no more, is singing the praise of Him who careth for his children. The funeral services were held at the Dunkard Church east of Arcadia conducted by Rev. Newlin assisted by Rev. A. K. Mumma, who paid a fitting tribute of respect to the worthy memory of the christian young lady. Interment at the cemetery near by. Thus again we are reminded of the Divine declaration made a long time ago: "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the words of our God abideth forever."
