Harry M. Banks of Springville, IN, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at the Hospitality House. Born on June 19, 1924, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Avery and Iva (Walker) Banks. He married Elsie Godsey on November 30, 1942, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kenny and Larry Banks, both of Springville, IN; one sister, Phyllis Andis of Springville, IN; three brothers: James Banks of Mitchell, IN, Robert Banks of Bloomington, IN, and Claude Banks of Springville, IN; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ruth Ann Phillips; one sister, Maude Banks; and one brother, Alva Banks.

He worked at NWSC Crane and was a farmer. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army. He was member of Fayetteville House of Prayer Church.

Services for Harry Banks will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Bill Raines and Pastor Wendell Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Byers-Rainbolt Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by members of American Legion Gillen Post #33.
