William Leon Vice, age 61, of Northport, Alabama, passed away October 20, 2001 at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Vice was born October 24, 1939, to the late James Archie and Jessie Winters Vice. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School's Class of 1958, and a graduate of University of Alabama. He was employed by the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education for twenty-nine years. He served as teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He was a deacon and lifelong member of Meadow Branch Baptist Church in Kennedy, Alabama.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 22, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Meadow Branch Baptist Church in Kennedy, Alabama. Bro. Chris McCool, Elder J.C. Rusing, and Bro. Tim McCool were the officiating ministers. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Dyer Vice; son, Dr. Bradley Vice (Dr. Juliana Gray Vice), Russellville, Arkansas; brothers, James A. Vice (Gloria), Harry T. Vice (Patsy), and Frank D. Vice, all of Kennedy; brothers-in-law, Bruce Skelton (Kate), Palmetto and Kenneth Dyer (Helen), Reform.

Pallbearers were Jim Ryan, Bobby Cockrell, Jason Vice, Matt Dyer, Sammy Winters, and James Vice.
