Bert & Harriet were the parents of two daughters:

~ Lida Andra "Betty, w/o Theron A Noble

Enlisted May 12, 1898 in Portland, Oregon as James B O'Neal (probably his birth name). Assigned to Company "L" of 2nd Oregon Infantry. Discharged with rank of Private on June 12, 1899 at Manila, Philippine Islands. Pension Certificate No. 1,247,559.
Mr. Hudson entered the Washington Veterans' Home at Retsil on 9 Oct 1930, transferring from Pacific Branch National Military Home at Sawtelle, Los Angeles, CA. He left the Washington Veterans' Home on 13 Jan 1931. Both he and his wife, Harriett, were re-admitted to Retsil on 14 Mar 1933.
Mr Hudson died at Retsil in 1947 and is buried in the soldiers' cemetery.

Gravesite Details
It appears James was adopted by the Hudsons. His 1898 enlistment read James B O'Neal. His WADC shows his mother as Mary O'Neil. His 1916 US Passport Application says he was born in Dublin, Ireland. Other records contradict each of these items.
