BELLEVILLE -- Max L. Ball, 76, Belleville, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at a Belleville hospital.
Mr. Ball owned and operated Rural Gas in Belleville.
He was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Belleville, the son of Ora and Esther Dickerman Ball. He was a lifelong Belleville resident. Mr. Ball was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church and the Belleville Township Board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Ball, on Dec. 23, 1989.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Burt and Julie Ann Long, both of Belleville, and Carolyn Ball, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Bruce Ball, Belleville; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Belleville.
Burial will be in Belleville Cemetery.
Mr. Ball will lie in state from noon to 9 p.m. today at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Republic County Hospital and sent in care of the funeral home.
