Laura Hobson Cantrell was born in Aug 1868 near Sherrill Missouri. Her father, Evan Louis, was born in North Carolina and her mother, Sarah Ann (McKinney) in Licking, Texas county, MO.

Laura Adelia married Christopher Hugh Cantrell. They had three children; Virgil (born about 1898 in MO.), Beulah, (born about 1897), and Wilma, (about 1906).
Christopher died May 16, 1907. Laura married his widowed brother, Edward Harvey Cantrell in Mount Vernon, Skagit Co., Washington State. She died there and was buried in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in 1921
