Jack was the son of Percival T. & Edna L. (Swenson) Bulger. He lived in Keyport, NJ where he attended the public schools. After high school graduation, Jack attended the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics, in Newark, NJ, where he learned airplane mechanics. He was employed as a senior mechanic by the Middletown Air Depot in Middletown, PA.

On 27 March 1943, Jack was married to Shirley Mae Baldwin who was also from Keyport, NJ. They took up residence in Sullensgrove, PA. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in July of 1943 and soon went over seas. During the war, Jack was stationed in the largest Air Service Command Depot in Britain where he served as an airplane mechanic. During this time, Shirley lived with her parents in Keyport, NJ. Jack's discharge from military service was announced in the Matawan Journal issue dated 3 January 1946.

After the war, Jack took advantage of the G.I. Bill and attended Newark State Teacher's College. During his life he worked at a few different jobs and then became a shop teacher in Elizabeth, NJ, where he remained until retirement. After Shirley's retirement they relocated to southwest Florida for the remainder of their lives. (msa)
