Oriana Beatrice Gear Obituary

Oriana Beatrice (Miller) Gear age 91 beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother went to be with the Lord from her home in Billings, Montana on March 3, 2003.
Oriana was born January 18, 1912 on the family farm west of Savage Montana, the daughter of Jens and Emelia (Olson) Miller. The family moved to Savage when she was 8 and she was raised and educated there. After graduation, Oriana attended Billings Business College and returned to the Savage - Sidney area to work.
In 1933 she was married to Glen Robert O'Conner and one daughter was born of this union. They were later divorced.
In June of 1941 Oriana was married to John Chester Gear and they farmed in the community before selling the farm and moving to Savage. During that time Oriana began working for the Savage Public School and was to put in 34 years of service as a secretary/clerk before retiring in 1981.
Oriana was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive and the Senior Citizens of Savage. She loved to cook and was known throughout the Yellowstone valley for her pies and candy.
Following the death of her husband John, Oriana sold her house and moved to Billings to be near her daughter and family.
Oriana is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother LaVern.
She is survived by her daughter Dolores (Ralph) Belobraidic of Billings, 5 grandchildren, Oriana Sue (Bob) Hamm of Phoenix AZ, John (Mary) Belobraidic of Missoula MT., Tami (James)Birkholz of Dallas TX, Shawna Carter and Joe Belobraidic of Billings, 15 great grandchildren; Trisha, Aspen, Aaron, Jenna, Allen, Shawn, Kaitlin, and Kayleigh Belobraidic, Nikita Birkholz, Tia Wagoner, Jesse Taylor, Tawnya Fosjord, Kyla Lumpkin, William Richard and Kayla Carter and 6 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff of Big Sky Hospice of Billings for their loving care and support.
Services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church of Savage with interment in the Riverview Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
