Andy was the son of William M. Sides of Anson County NC and Cerepta Dill of Wilson, TN. Siblings were Henry Coleman, George Franklin, William, Frank M, John B, Elizabeth Ann, Nancy Catherine, Elizabeth Jean, and Frances Sides. Andy married Mary Staggs in 1846 and their children were Henry Coleman, Mary Martha, Jonathan Madison, James Bentley, Elizabeth Ann, Nancy, Mary Ann, Rebecca, William Houston, George Francis, Eliza Jane, and Joseph V Sides.
MILITARY SERVICE: CSA, enrolled and mustered into service by Capt. Goodwin at Jasper AL and detailed as blacksmith for Walker Co.

He was a member of the Masonic Order, probably A&FM Black Creek Lodge #610, Nauvoo, Walker County, Alabama.
