Bert was the son of Franklin M. Sullins and Millie A. Reed. The name Sullins can also be found spelled "Sullens". I do not which is more correct. Both appear in the United States Census records. Likewise Burt's first name is shown many different ways. In 1900 Census he is Birt and Bertram J, being double counted that year. In 1910 he was Bert. In 1920 it was spelled Burt. Then in 1930 he was Julius B. Sullens.
The 1900 census shows Bert (Birt) Sullins as a Lead Miner at Centerville, Jasper Co., Missouri. He and his family were double counted that year by the census. They also appear for Roubideaux Twp. in Pulaski Co.
He married Eva Therisa Breeden on January 28th, 1900 in Pulaski Co., Missouri.
In his WWI Draft Registration Card, Bert and his family still lived in Pulaski Co. He worked for M. Sears & Co. in Crocker, Mo. The card was dated 9/12/1918.
