Friday Wreck Proves Fatal to City Youth

Clyde Broaddus was Unable to regain Consciousness Before Death

Funeral today at 3:30

Service will be held at First Baptist Church in Holdenville

Clyde Broaddus, 27, injured in a four car smashup two miles south of Horntown at six o'clock Friday evening, died at 11:30 am Saturday in a local hospital without regaining consciousness.

the accident occurred after the bread truck in which he was a passenger, collided with a cattle truck and before the highway could be cleared a north bound passenger bus hit both cars and completely turned the bread truck over pinioning Broaddus underneath, it was stated by the less seriously injured.

R C Gibson, driver of the B & B truck, was said to have been knocked for a distance of 15 feet and was injured in the hip and back. He is not thought serious.

Dorothy Citron, 19, of Coalgate was inured in the same smash-up. Hospital attaches said Saturday that she would doubtless recover but was suffering from a broken pelvis. She was said to have been enroute to Shawnee.

Clyde Calvin Broaddus was born October 25, 1909 at Allen Okla. Died from injuries received in an automobile wreck at 11:30 am, Saturday, Dec 28 1935. Age 27 years, two months and three days.

Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, at 3:30 pm at the First Baptist church, the Reverend J E Kirk, pastor, officiating.

Deceased leaves a wife Bessie Broaddus and two small sons, Jimmie, five and Donnie, three of Houston Texas; father J O Broaddus, city; mother Mrs C S Beadle, Comanche; one sister, Mrs Roy Code, Grafford Texas, and four brothers, Chas W, and Cleo Broaddus of Los Angeles, Calif and C L Broaddus, city clerk, Holdenville.

Active pallbearers: D D Mathis, Ernest Roberts, Leon Bennett, Carl Votaw, Cecil Hamilton and P K Fancher.

Honorary bearers: S B Turner, VA Gamble, W E Agee, A L Stevenson, Geo C Crump, C F Roberts, H E Brinson, Gus Moeller, Howard Holmes and Joe Armstrong.
