Patricia Porter Price, 74, Topeka, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.

Mrs. Price worked for the city of Topeka for many years before she retired.

She was born May 31, 1924, in Topeka, the daughter of William and Gweneth Petty Porter. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1942 and she attended Kansas State University.

Mrs. Price was a member and officer of the John Haupt Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Topeka, a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, National Society of Colonial Dames seventeenth Century, National Huguenot Society, National Society of Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, National Society of Dames of Court of Honor, National Society of the U.S. Daughters of 1812 and Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Mrs. Price also was a member of the auxiliary to the Stormont-Vail Hospital and she served on the board of directors of Topeka Cemetery.

She married Neil L. Price in 1978. He died April 24, 1998.

Survivors include a son, James R. McClain, Topeka; two daughters, Gail McClain Duran, Kansas City, and Gweneth McClain, Topeka; a brother, James W. Porter, Topeka; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Price will lie in state after noon today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 5 to 6 p.m.
