Mary Chaffee Collister, 98, of Upland, California, died Oct. 19, at home.
A retired schoolteacher, she was born July 31, 1891, in North Madison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Harley Chaffee. She became an Upland resident two months age, and was a former Montclair resident 10 years.
She was a member of the Church of Christ of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., a member of the Grace Chapter No. 11 Order of the Eastern Star, the Business and Professional Womens Club, and past president of the Progressive Literary Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Janes Davies of Upland; and four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
