Lower Burrell
Amadeus "Adam" Farinelli, 83, of Lower Burrell, passed peacefully Sunday, March 29, 2009, at his home. He was born March 11, 1926, in Arnold, to the late Victor and Gaetana Farinelli; and was also preceded by five brothers, Anthony, Valentino, Albert, Angelo and Joseph Farinelli; and one sister, Rita DeSantis. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. He worked as a quality control inspector for Blawnox Steel for more than 30 years and later at the M.W. Kellogg Corp. in Houston, Texas. Also, he was a proud World War II Navy veteran, serving on the Robert F. Keller Destroyer. A graduate of Arnold High School in 1944, he was also a member of the Arnold High School football team. He enjoyed all sports, reading, big band music and was an avid bowler. Surviving him are his wife of 61 years, Josephine (Spadaro) Farinelli; two sons, Richard "Rick" (Marjorie) Farinelli, of Lower Burrell, and Robert Farinelli, of Fox Chapel; one sister, Zelinda Falcon, of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, Arnold. Prayers of transfer will take place at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
