Ellis Armstrong was the son of William Wesley Armstrong and Fredia Rhodes Armstrong, born March 12, 1890 in Gladwin County, Michigan and moved to Missouri with his parents in 1905. But for a short time spent in Oklahoma, he lived the remainder of his life here. On April 4, 1915 he married Lula Belle Saunders, daughter of James Monroe and Rosa Juliette Jones Saunders. The Rev. P.D. Jones officiated. Survived by his widow and four children; Doris, Neva, Charles and Eleanor. Masonic services were held at graveside. Buried at Antioch Cemetery in Oakland, Missouri.
