Death of Mrs. Sarah Bowman
Mrs. Sarah Bowman, aged about eighty, died at the home of her son, Owen Bowman of Formosa, Saturday night Oct. 18th, 1924. Interment took place Sunday afternoon at Union Hill cemetery, many sorrowing relatives and friends being in attendance. Mrs. Bowman, who had been a faithful and loyal member of the Christian church for many years, had been a resident of Formosa for about forty years. Her husband died some thirty years since. She was not only a Christian lady, but a most lovable lady, honored and respected by all who knew her. Besides the son mentioned she is survived by two other sons, Walter and Frank, and two daughters, Susan Emma Bowman Halbrook who married Dr. Daniel J Halbrook and Mrs. Elijah Aaron "E.A." (Nancy Loretta Bowman) Woolverton.
1920 Census shows her living with daughter Susan Halbrook at the age of 78 and widowed.
