Miner Crushed to Death from The Pottsville Rep. in Penna. newspaper, Sept 19,1906

Mr. Donahue and William Derr were working the place together. The former was crossing the breast when the full came without warning and he was engulfed under a great mass of coal. Derr, who was in a distant part of the breast, heard the full and knowing that Mr. Donahue was in the locality from which the sound came he surmised what had happened and gave the alarm that brought men to the rescue. The work of recovering the body was attended with great risk, owing to the constant working of the breast but this did not deter the rescuing party, who braved all obstacles until the body had been recovered
