BANGOR - Edward J. Bell, 77, died Dec. 23 after a long illness at the Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln. He was born in Fort Fairfield, July 16, 1897, the son of Osine and Mary Ayotte Bell. He lived in the Bangor area most of his life and was employed by the Oak Grove Spring Company and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his widow, Marion Mower Bell, Bangor; a brother, Walter Bell, Fort Fairfield; two sisters Mrs. Matthew Frangedakis, Lewiston, Mrs. Mable Shapero, South Portland. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor with the Rev. James H. Keegan officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
