Louise B. Tate, 93, of Altamont and formerly of St. Elmo, died at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the church. Memorials: First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo.

Mrs. Tate was born on March 26, 1916, the daughter of Paul and Della Deadmond Bundy. She married William R. "Smiley" Tate in Odin in 1934; he died on Nov. 24, 1982.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Elmo.

She is survived by sons, Ed Tate of Mt. Zion, and Bill Tate and his wife Suzie Tate of Lake Sherwood, Mo.; brothers, Warren Bundy and his wife Rita of Salem, Verlin Bundy and his wife Cay of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lowell Bundy and his wife Shirley of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Avadel and her husband Earl Cooksey of Centralia; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant sister, Glenda Bundy; brother, Delbert Bundy; and daughter-in-law, Janet Tate.
