Daughter of Patrick Collins and Hannah Ryan, both of (Lancaster) Saint John, New Brunswick. Sister Amanda was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. She was a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.

LATE SISTER AMANDA WAS NATIVE OF SAINT JOHN

Mrs. Catherine Gillis, 294 Rockland Road has received word of the death of her niece Sister Amanda in Austin, Texas recently. Sister Amanda was the daughter of Mrs. Hannah and the late Patrick J. Collins of Lynn, Mass. and formerly of Saint John. She received her education in Saint John schools, leaving here several years ago for Lowell, Mass. She entered St, John's Hospital there and was graduated in 1907, later joining the religious order of St. Vincent de Paul. Sister Amanda was then transferred to Austin,Texas. Surviving besides her mother are six sisters and three brothers all in Lynn. Miss Mary A. Ryan, Lowell, Mass and Mrs. Gillis are aunts.
