George M Bruce was born George M Cloudsley (middle name possibly Mearns). He was the youngest of seven children, born in Dundee, Scotland 14 Sept 1902 . He was the son of George McKay Cloudsley b. 3 Jan 1865 Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland d. aft 1946 unknown USA, and Agnes Lawson/Lowson b. 24 Jan 1867 Carnoustie, Scotland. d. 1901-03 Scotland. Allan Cloudsley, the first son of George and Agnes Cloudsley, died sometime between 1901-1904 in Scotland. George McKay Cloudsley immigrated to the US with his remaining six children, Christina K, John S, May E., Robert Milen, Raymond M and Geroge M Cloudsley. George M Cloudsley (the son) used the alias "Bruce," at another time during his life as did his brother John. George M Cloudsley has been buried in this cemetery using that alias "Bruce." George M Cloudsley "Bruce" was married to Nina Ellen Collins using his assumed surname "Bruce," on December 24, 1924. They were married at the home of Nina's parents at 1522 Lafayette St., Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas. From that marriage they had one daughter, Gwenlyn Lee "Bruce" Cloudsley, who was born in the home referenced above. George and Nina were divorced 27 May 1929 in Pontiac, Chancery, Oakland, Michigan. His alias was revealed at that court hearing and the couple was divorced under the proper surname Cloudsley. The couple remarried a second time in Toledo, Ohio on 20 June 1930, using the name George M Cloudsley and Nina E Cloudsley. The second marriage also ended in divorce on 9 January 1931 in Wyandotte County District Court, Kansas City, Kansas. George M Cloudsley is buried here using his assumed/alias surname "Bruce." Research is ongoing. It has been indicated in at least one other Stone County burial record that George M Bruce was cremated.
