MARY ATKINSON Mary Alice Atkinson, 81, returned home to her Heavenly Father Monday, April 27, 2009, at her home in Pahrump.

She was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to the late Wilford Reed and Berniece Faulk.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marquis Warren Atkinson. They have been married 63 years. She is also survived by her four children, Gloria Robertson and M. Gary Atkinson, both of Las Vegas, Nancy Davis of Orem, Utah, and David Atkinson of Pahrump; 19 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Mary Alice taught her posterity to work hard and to stand up for what is right. She dedicated years of her life to genealogy work and teaching her family the gospel. Mary Alice lived for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Memorial service will be at 10:40 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchannan Blvd., Boulder City. The family has asked for donations to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or the LDS Missionary Fund, in lieu of flowers.
