Phyllis Marie Wiederkehr, 68, Altoona, died Mon., Apr. 27, 2009 at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, to Edgar P. & A. Marie (Edwards) Schmelzlen. She married John O. Wiederkehr June 25, 1988, at St. James Lutheran Church. Survived by husband; brother, E. Philip Schmelzlen, Duncansville; sister, Judith Bryan, Duncansville; and several nieces & nephews. She retired as a clerk from the Altoona City Authority in September 2000, with 40 years of service. Mrs. Wiederkehr was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, a member and former treasurer of WELCA and involved in other church activities through the years. She was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. today at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be at 10a.m. Thursday. Interment, Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. Gilden Barton Funeral Home, Altoona.
