Mary Ann DeTarr, 90, widow of Frank DeTarr, died early today at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mrs. DeTarr had a fatal heart condition.
She was born December 1, 1871 in Leavenworth, a daughter of James and Mary O'Rourke. In 1888 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, she was married to Frank DeTarr. Mr. DeTarr died in 1913.
Surviving are three daughters, Sister Marianna, of the Sisters of Charity, Deer Lodge, Mont; Mrs. Agnes Melia, 321 Vine, and Mrs. Edward Storm, 22nd and Vilas; one son. Lucian DeTarr, Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with Rev. Valentine BoyIe, O. Carm., officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Rosaries will be recited Sunday at the Sumpter Funeral Chapel for the Daughters of Isabella at 7:30 p.m. and the St. Joseph Altar Society and friends at 8 p.m. Friends may call at the chapel after 1 p.m. Saturday.
