Albert was born in Canada, the son of Jonathan Emmet Farnham and Rachel McDermond. He married Edith N. George and they had five children. On Nov 1 1862, Albert enlisted as a private in company I 1st Minnesota Cavalry aka 1st Minnesota mounted Rangers and was discharged as a Corporal on 1 Dec 1863.

In Oronoco Leaves a Wife and
Several Children
This morning at 5 o'clock, at his home
in Oronoco, Mr. Albert Farnham passed
from the state of the mortal to the immortal.
He had not been sick a great
time The insidious disease was swift
in its work and soon sapped the vitality
of Mr Farnham
The deceased was an excellent citizen
and was always willing to stand for
that which he believed to be right and
honorable. He was fifty-nine years of
age. Mr. Farnham is survived by a
wife and several children.
The funeral will be held Thursday
morning from the Presbyterian church
in Oronoco, under the auspices of the
Odd Fellows' Ledge. Rev Frank Doran
will officiate. The remains will be laid
to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
