He was born on April 8, 1946 in Chicago, IL to the late Harl and Ida McAllister. He served in the US Air Force in Vietnam. He married Barbara Bast in February of 2005. Al was self employed as a roofing contractor, he was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 675, VFW Post 7452, Knights of Columbus Council 7248 and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Marquette Assembly. He earned his Bachelors Degree from DePaul University in 1975.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his siblings, Harl McAllister, Marvin McAllister, Irene Wodecki, Mary Ellen Lukas, Elsie Masterson, Lois Jablonski, and Carol Setla, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Artemus and Ariel.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald; and sisters, Edna Nasti and Margaret McAllister.
Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, March 26th from 4:00-8:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave., Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be on Friday March 27th at 10:00 am at St. Anne's Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
