Mrs. Sarah Grubb, age 68 years, passed away at 7:00 o'clock Monday morning Nov. 7, 1949 at the Abernathy Home in Martinsville, following an illness of two and one-half years.

Funeral services were conducted from Martinsville Bible Church at 2:00, Nov 9, 1949, with the Rev. George Nika officiating. Burial was in Medsker Cemetery. Greenwell Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Her first husband was Pert Conrad, they divorced and she married David Montgomery Grubb who preceded her in death on Nov 9, 1936.
Surviving are: six children, William (Nina) of Martinsville, Don (Mary)of Casey. Woodrow (Pat) of Mattoon, Ruby (Paul) Roberts of Mattoon, Ottis (Verna) of Greenfield, Illinois, Lloyd (Blanche)Conrad of Rochester, New York; her father; William Metcalf and one brother Ed Metcalf; six sisters; Bertha Zimmerman of Martinsville Illinois, Minnie Higbee of West Palm Beach, Florida, Nan Fisher of Shipman, Illinois, Mary Byrd of Wood River, Illinois, and Grace Fillman of Washington, D. C.
