Dallas Hensley was a Church of God Minister for almost all his life. He was the son of John Wesley Hensley and Doshia Tipton. He wrote a book about his life called "My Life As I saw It" and it tells about his struggles and accomplishments as a travelling preacher in the Mountains of Tn. and North Carolina. I never had the Honor to meet him, but he was my cousin twice removed. He had no idea that someday his cousin would study his life and read his book. I'm sure he was a fine man, and I would have loved to have met him. Thanks to his daughter Mrs. Mackseane Gray for furnishing a copy of his book to me or I would have never had the pleasure of learning about his life and a great many of my unmet relatives.
During his ministry, he organized 15 Churches, pastored 25 and was the District Overseer for 10 districts in North Carolina. After his retirement he was a member of the Clingman Street Church of God where he continued to preach and teach a Sunday School class. Until just 2 weeks before his death he visited and preached weekly at the Brian Center.
