"Gila County Deputy Sheriff For 26 Years Is Buried Wednesday"
Funeral services for William Frederick Pascoe, 69, were held Wednesday at Globe Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ernie Springer of the Lutheran Mission at East Fork Mission in White River officiating. Graveside services were conducted by Knights of Pythias, Pinal Mountain Lodge No. 11, at Globe Cemetery.
Knights of Pythias of Hayden were pallbearers and peace officers of Gila County here honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Pascoe, deputy sheriff of Gila County since 1926, was born July 7, 1884 in Globe and had lived in Gila County all ofhi8s life. He had been a deputy sheriff of Gila County since 1924, except the three years he was special Indian officer at Bylas on the San Carlos Apache reservation. He also served as watchman for the Inspiration Consolidated Copper mine during World War I. He died Saturday of a heart attack in his home in Hayden. Survivng him are his wife, Lela Pascoe, Hayden; two sons, Jamor Hershell T. Pascoe of March Field, California and Frank R. Pascoe with the U.S. armed forces in Lake City, Tennessee; a brother, Frank Pascoe, Springerville; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Miller, Globe and Mrs. Annie Trojanovich, Phoenix and one grandchild.
