Mr. Copeland, 77, of Alexandria, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at his daughter's residence in Mandeville.
Mr. Copeland was a member of the Church of Christ in Alexandria. He worked for Prudential Life Insurance as an insurance agent until he retired. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Copeland was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and loved squirrel hunting. He was a great father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel; his son, Ronald Eugene Copeland; and his parents, William and Vena Johnson Copeland.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Prudhomme of Mandeville; his wife, Ruby Copeland of Morrow; his brother, Billy Mills Copeland of San Antonio, Texas; his granddaughter, Kristie Hargrave; and two great-grandchildren, Kalub Fontenot and Haley DelBueno.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
