Called Edith most of her life, she attended Oakwood School in Poughkeepsie, NY, and graduated from there in 1937.
On June 15, 1939, Edith married Charles W. Yantz in an evening ceremony in the manse of the First Congregational Church of Burlington.
She attended hairdressing school, owned and operated a salon in Burlington for about three years, then they purchased a home in Hinesburg where they raised a family, and she operated a beauty salon in the home there from 1950 to 1965.
Edith was choir director for many years at the Hinesburg United Church.
In the 60s, Charlie and Edith purchased a farm in Colchester, and boarded horses until their children moved on. They purchased a home in St. George, and Edith became very involved in the Community Alliance Church of Hinesburg. She also operated an upholstery business in the home.
Edith died February 21, 1992, at home following an extended illness. She was survived by three daughters and 7 grandchildren.
Edith was predeceased by her husband Charlie, one infant daughter, and her brother Alfred.
