According to Raymond Mozley, Samuel G. moved from Walton Co., to Campbell and Cobb Co. about 1839. Enlisted in the US Army for the War of 1812. A War of 1812 memorial marker was placed at his grave site on June 15, 1982. He also served in the 415th as a 1st Lt. from May 1, 1821 until Nov. 29, 1822. He died at home near Austell.

Sacred to the memory of Samuel G. Mozley, the husband of Elizabeth Mozley who departed this life on the 27th of July 1854 in the 65th year of his age, leaveing (sic) a wife & 12 children to mourn his irepairable (sic) loss, gone forever where the weary are at rest.
