I remember G. Grandpa Ankney as a fun loving old man who was full of life. When he was a teenager in Paulding Co. Ohio, he was a guard at Tate's Landing on the Wabash and Erie Canal. Later he became a captain of a barge team on the canal. He served as a night policeman in New Haven, Indiana for a few years.
